Avery Sunshine
Avery Sunshine, a singer-composer well-known for his unique mixture of soul gospel, R&B and R&B. Her career path has taken her from Broadway to European concerts and festivals and even to at the Democratic National Convention. Sunshine is a name that she has given her has been given as Denise White. While she's based in Atlanta, her roots are in Chester Pennsylvania. There she first began to develop the musical profession by singing and playing the piano in a church. Following her graduation from Spellman College, Atlanta she embarked on her journey of music in the Atlanta's R&B culture. She took on the role of primary pianist for Tyler Perry's stage show Meet the Browns. In 2007 Grammy and Tony award-winning vocalist Jennifer Holliday sought her out to become the choral director in the production staged by Dreamgirls in the National Black Arts Festival in Atlanta. Sunshine received national attention for four daily performances during the Democratic National Convention in 2008. She was invited to perform as part of the inauguration of President Obama in 2009.
