Anne Burrell

Anne W. Burrell is a American TV personality who is a chef, and a former instructor at the Institute of Culinary Education. Anne W. Burrell is host on Secrets of a Restaurant Chef for the Food Network, as well as co-hosting Worst Cooks in America. Anne Burrell, with her signature spiky blonde locks and pumped-up persona on the Food Network's Secrets of a Restaurant Cook series, shares an easy and straightforward cooking techniques that are suitable for the home cook. The chef Burrell is also an experienced chef of New York City's best restaurants. Additionally, she has studied Italy's culinary tradition and the culture of Italy, and the surrounding geography. While growing up in Upstate New York, Chef Burrell discovered a love for cooking and food from an early age. Her passion was for the restaurant industry by enrolling at The Culinary Institute of America after obtaining a degree in English as well as Communication at Canisius College, Buffalo NY. She says "I enjoyed being a Culinary Institute of America (CIA) student. I enjoyed every moment." I could not learn or do enough. After graduation, chef Burrell went on to spend one year in Italy taking classes at an Italian Culinary Institute for Foreigners while working at La Taverna del Lupo in Umbria and La Bottega del 30 a one-Michelin star restaurant in Tuscany. In Italy, Chef Burrell developed an appreciation for and understanding of Italian culinary traditions. It had a significant impact on how she views food. Burrell is an ambassador for the celebrity chef for the Juvenile Diabetic Research Foundation. She is a member of the Garden of Dreams Foundation Advisory Board which assists kids who have challenges. She has been a frequent presenter at conferences, and she travels throughout the United States to mentor others in her role. Anne often has mentioned throughout her culinary career she's grateful to be able to share what's most important for her.
